Love sent Jesus down to earth
Creation to redeem
Knowing that He would endure
Great pain and suffering.
He was wounded for our sins
Afflicted and oppressed
Yet spoke no word in His defense
Despite His great distress.
The Father watched from heaven above
Pleased with what He saw
His Son—an offering for our sin
His sacrifice for all.
They crucified Him on the cross
And mocked Him as He died
Thinking they had proved Him wrong
His claim had been denied.
But three days later Christ arose
To resurrected life
Proving Him to be the Truth
The Son of Man divine.
Eternal life can now be ours
A gift from God above
Repent, believe and just receive
Christ Jesus—Son of love.
