TIME IS SHORT! RESERVE YOUR PLACE IN HEAVEN NOW!!

Well, I just endured a round with CoVid and was reminded again of how our life is like a vapor, just as scripture says.  No one is promised tomorrow. It’s caused me to think again about the need to share the truth of the gospel of salvation in Jesus with everyone I possibly can.  I believe the need is more urgent than ever before because the signs of the times around us as declared in scripture point to the coming return of Jesus as King,  His return will close the door of opportunity to all who refuse to accept Him as Savior before that time.

This is the basic document that I modified and sent people in my condo building and plan to modify yet again to send to family and friends. My heart gets overwhelmed at thinking about anyone I love living an eternity without Jesus.  If you do not know the LORD as your own personal Savior, please keep reading.  If you do, please pray with me for those that may see this post to be brought to their knees in repentance before the LORD.

Do you know that the bible predicted that the Jewish people would form a nation again after many years of wandering the earth without a nation to call their own?  Against all odds, Israel became a nation again on May 14, 1948.

Do you know that the scripture predicts that there will be a significant increase in number and severity of earthquakes as the time for Jesus to return draws near?  Quote from prophecynewswatch.com:  “According to the Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS) composite catalog, recent years have seen a marked increase in the number of earthquakes with a magnitude of 8.0 or greater….The 20th Century witnessed 22 earthquakes with a magnitude of 8.0 or greater, but already the 21st Century has seen 21 such earthquakes. If that pace continues, we'll see 116 earthquakes of 8.0 magnitude or greater by the end of this century!”

Do you know that God’s word predicts that there will be an increase in famines and pestilences as the return of Jesus draws near?  Think about all the recent news regarding growing famine, locust plagues, swine flu, ebola, the CoVid pandemic, etc.

Do you know that the scripture predicts technology that will allow the people of earth to see what is going on in another part of the world?  The invention of the television first made this possible, but most of us hold that ability in our hands every day in the form of a smart phone.

Do you know that God’s word predicts technology that will allow a world ruler to control the ability of individuals to buy or sell, to make business transactions, by utilizing a mark on the hand or forehead?  Implantable technology is now available in several forms.  Many governments around the world are already trying to introduce various means of controlling where people can go and what they can do in light of CoVid.

Do you know that the scripture predicts that the time will come when men will only believe those that tell them what they want to hear without regard to the truth?  This is in evidence not only in the secular world around us, but also in the professing church today.

These are just a few of the things predicted that are part of our reality now.

The scripture has also predicted some other events that I believe will happen in the relatively near future…

  • that the day is drawing near when the LORD will take everyone that belongs to Him (both dead and alive) to heaven, making them immortal and fit to live in heaven with Him for eternity.  This event is widely known as the rapture.  It is a day in which all true believers in Jesus who are alive at that time will suddenly disappear.

1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

  • that Damascus will be completely destroyed as a city.
  • that a coalition of forces including Russia, Iran, Turkey and others will attack Israel and that the LORD will supernaturally intervene on behalf of Israel.
  • that the Jews will be allowed to rebuild their temple.
  • that the one world government desired by so many will become a reality.
  • that the eventual leader of that government will one day appear to resurrect from the dead.
  • that the eventual leader of that government will one day declare himself to be God from the temple in Jerusalem.
  • that there will be two powerful prophets that will declare God’s truth from Jerusalem that have the power to perform miracles and prevent rain.
  • that Jesus will return as KING of the earth to rule from the throne of David in Jerusalem for 1,000 years

There is so much more that could be said about the prophetic future.  This blog was created to inform people on that very topic.  I believe that time is short.  I believe that events are occurring that will culminate in the return of Jesus.  I want to know that I have done my best to tell others the truth of God’s word and the good news of salvation.  Only you can decide how you will respond to that truth.

God loved you and me so much that He sacrificed His Son to make a way for us to have everlasting life.  John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Every single one of us is a sinner! Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God….”  Sin is anything we do or fail to do in accordance with the moral truth revealed in God’s word.

Because we are sinners, our future is one of death, not life.  Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

As stated in the verse above, salvation is a gift; there is nothing you can do to earn it.  Ephesians 2:8–9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

To truly believe in Jesus is to accept Him as your Lord, your master, the one in authority over you.  Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Jesus clearly stated that those who love Him will try to obey Him.  The only way we can know how to  obey Him is to read His word, the Bible.  John 14:23 “Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”

Luke 6:46 ““But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?”

Obviously, we will continue to sin even when trying not to.  As long as we are in this body, we will be at war with the flesh.  God is always ready to forgive us when we sincerely confess our sin to Him.  1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

When God forgives us, He removes our sin as far from us as the east is from the west; you can’t measure that distance.  Psalm 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”

When Jesus saves us, He clothes us in His righteousness.  2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Though people like to say that there are many ways to get to heaven, Jesus declared that He is the only way to get access to the Father in heaven.  John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

When we receive Jesus as Savior, we receive the indwelling Holy Spirit as the guarantee of our salvation and to provide the comfort, strength and provision we need as we navigate life on this earth.  Ephesians 1:13–14 “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

John 14:16–17 “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

1 Corinthians 3:16 “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”

We can know that the Spirit is in us because we will evidence fruit that He produces in our lives.  Galatians 5:22–23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”

When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we become sons and daughters of God, joint-heirs with Jesus in God’s family.  Romans 8:14, 16–17 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God….The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.…”

Jesus has promised to one day come and take us home to live with Him and God the Father.  John 14:1–3 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

All the scripture about salvation is easy to share, but it would be irresponsible of me not to warn you of the consequences of rejecting Jesus as Savior.  If you do, you will be choosing an eternity without him, an eternity in the company of Satan and his angels.  Your eternity will be one of living in fire that never abates yet doesn’t destroy one’s existence; an existence that allows no rest day or night.  Anyone whose name is not written in the Book of Life faces this eternal judgment.  The only way to ensure your name is written in the Book of Life is to place your faith in Jesus as your Savior.

Matthew 25:41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels….

2 Thessalonians 1:7–10 “…when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe.…”

Revelation 14:9–11 “Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

Mark 9:47–48 “And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire—

where “Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’”

Revelation 20:12–15 “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works….And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

My prayer is that you will humble your heart before the LORD if you haven’t already and place your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior.  I want to see you in heaven!

Time is short.  Jesus is coming soon!
